Marcus Blackmore AM, Anglican Church Grammar, 1958-62

Marcus Blackmore is currently the Chairman of Blackmores Ltd, a public company employing over 540 people in Australia, New Zealand and Asia; the company markets the premium brand of vitamin and herbal products under the ‘Blackmores’ label and is widely recognised for its ethical practices and its treatment of staff.

1969-1971 Australian Army R.A.E. Rank 2nd Lieutenant with service in Vietnam. Michael has been involved with many charitable and business organisations and has received many awards for his contribution to industry and the community. Awarded a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia on 8 June 2008 for service to business and industry, particularly through the natural health products industry and to the community Other awards include: National Australia Day Council Citizen of the Year for community service in 1994, NFAA ‘Lady Cilento Award’ for contribution to industry in 1981, NSW Government Premiers Award 1990 for community service, RiverCare 2000 Gold Award in 1995 by NSW Department of Land and Water Conservation, Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Manly, Honorary Doctor of Southern Cross University in 2006 for distinguished leadership in the complementary medicines industry in Australia, inducted into Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) Hall of Fame in September 2011
