He was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1967, but made his name as an entrepreneur who possessed considerable flair and business acumen. He launched Power Brewing in 1987 and quickly grabbed 22 percent of the Queensland beer drinking market, as well as making an indelible mark on Queensland through his sponsorship of the Brisbane Broncos.
